Ushuaia Ibiza Hotel Bouncer Arrested
Thursday 24th November 2011 - 15:33
Paulo Caesar Baptista, the man who has been on the run since mid-August when he was involved in an incident in which another member of the Ushuaia staff was killed, has been arrested in Holland.
28 year-old bartender, Abel Ureņa, was a victim of what proved to be a fatal punch from his colleague. The incident, which was widely reported, was a heavy cloud over an otherwise successful first season in Ibiza for Ushuaia.
As we reported earlier this month, the episode prompted Ibiza officials to act, taking more responsibility for the employment of competent bouncers and the ways in which they are trained and registered.
Although it will not bring him back, justice should go some way to providing closure to those closest to Ureņa. The tragic event will never be forgotten but it is important to focus on how not just Ushuaia, but Space, DC10, Amnesia, and the island as a whole moves forward together.
