It won’t be new news to those that frequent Ibiza often, but Ibiza has been found to be in the top 5 most expensive places to take a taxi in Spain, the consumer group Facau-Consumidores has found. Along with high club entrance and drinks prices, taxis join the list of what can be an expensive excursion to the island. The starting rate for a taxi fare is 3.25 Euros, while the national average for Spain is just 1.66 Euro. You will also be charged 0.98 Euro per kilometre in the daytime and 1.20 euro at night, though you can still have sympathy for those living in Seville who pay 1.45 euro. Of course there is always the alternative of the bus, which is surprisingly efficient and very good value for money, but not so good for those far off beaches and restaurants in the hills.
