Situated at the almost the furthest point of Talamanca lies this superb restaurant & bar. The jewel in its crown (a new addition for 2009), initially hidden to the naked eye from the exterior, is the roof terrace bar which has an all encompassing view of Talamanca bay before you in a sweeping sickle-like vista. Suitably named Panorama, it has locals waxing lyrical about it being one of the hottest new places in Ibiza.
Filled almost exclusively with inviting lounge beds, it oozes the kind of soothing and sophisticated atmosphere synonymous with the best parts of the island. The styling on the terrace is a blend of traditional Ibicencan white coupled with a flourish of red across the pillows, umbrellas and lighting; altogether aesthetically pleasing and very effective.
Arrive before sunset if you can to catch the sun as it disappears behind the hills overlooking Ibiza Town and soaks the bay in warm tones. As darkness approaches you will witness the transition as the city lights start to appear in the distance, illuminating Dalt Vila.
On top of the regular drinks menu there is the enticingly named ‘Secret Wine List’, for those of you looking for something that extra bit special. The drinks are complemented by a menu of light tapas should you desire something to eat, if the atmosphere and view should prove not appetizing enough!
Downstairs is the fantastic restaurant set across a couple of large terraces both covered and open-air with views out over the bay, offering a dining experience to suit any taste. The restaurant specializes in both classic and contemporary mouth-watering cuisine, including dishes like roasted rack of lamb with thyme juice and sauted vegetables and tiger prawns with wasabi foam.
By nature of its location, though only a short distance away from the busy main stretch of Talamana and Ibiza Town itself, Sa Punta seems to attract an in-the-know clientele.
Getting There
You’ll want to take the car or a taxi and head towards the village of Jesus just outside Talamanca. As you drive out of Jesus you’ll come to a mini roundabout, continue straight ahead and follow the road up until eventually you come to some new build apartments, just past these there is a subtle signpost for Sa Punta, so keep your eyes peeled.
Do I need to book?
During the summer months absolutely as it is very popular amongst the cognoscenti.
Best time to go
Head there at lunchtime for a laidback affair or alternatively get dressed up for a stylish evening dinner with beautiful sunset views.
Must try
Roasted Wild Sea Bass and anything from the Secret Wine List.
