Ibiza Restaurant: Amante - Food For Lovers

Tuesday 18th August 2009 - 21:33

Opened in June 2009, Amante received a rapturous reception. Owner David Piccioni took one of the most beautiful and beloved spots in Ibiza and gave it a radiant new crown to be proud of. Meandering down the cliffside overlooking Sol Den Serra with a cascading series of terraces, Amante is replete with inviting lounge beds and sofas and stylish, understated dining areas. At the foot lies the private beach where you can take advantage of the chill out beds and sun loungers, whether it is day or night.

There is also the intimate ‘Amante table’, offering couples the chance to wine and dine in solitude with dedicated table service (the only thing missing is Cupid himself). It can only be described as the pinnacle of the romantic dining ideal.

With a burgeoning reputation for an inventive and downright delicious cocktail list (try the ‘Amante Martini’ and try to convince yourself you don’t love it) and a menu excelling at everything from the perfect steak to char grilled fresh bream, Amante has quickly cemented its standing in the culinary hothouse that is Ibiza.

If you happen to be at Amante at the time of the full moon you might be lucky enough to be witness to the extraordinary sight of the moon ‘rising’ out of the ocean horizon. It is worthwhile looking up if your stay coincides with the full moon and booking a table at Amante on the according date. Speaking from experience, it is certainly like nothing we have ever seen.

Amante seduces you with a heady mix of stunning views, friendly service and of course the wonderful food and imaginative cocktails.

Getting There:

Located just outside Cala Longa, a short car ride from Santa Eulalia. Follow signs for Sol Den Serra Beach. You can walk from Cala Longa but for most taxi or car will be the only options as the restaurant is located down a lengthy dirt track.

Do I need to book?

In high season it is recommended and due to the location, you won’t want to be disappointed after making the journey.

Best time to go?

There are special events including Yoga mornings, full moon, and afternoon barbeques. Check the website for more details.

By day the venue is equally impressive with pebble beach below view and sun loungers to relax on, while by night a tranquil oasis.

Must Try:

The Amante Cocktail or flavoured mojitos
